Company owner Rudy Barajas has over twenty-two years experience in public construction contracting on projects ranging in size from $1.5 million to over $250 million with contractor’s project management responsibilities on projects up to $160 million. Mr. Barajas’ past experience includes construction and renovation of institutional buildings, sewerage treatment facilities, railroad transportation projects, bridges, roads, highways, utilities, athletic complexes and office buildings.
Barajas CM Associates was started in 2009 to serve the needs of a construction industry hit hard by the “Great Recession.” With construction companies drastically scaling back on overhead costs, there was still a need to strike a delicate balance between just enough overhead and too little overhead to perform and compete in a tight economy.
Whether a company is downsizing or cautiously growing, there is always that point where outsourcing can make a lot of sense. Barajas CM Associates is a business-to-business construction management consulting firm that helps construction companies find that balance by offering traditional construction management services on an on-call, as-needed basis. This allows contractors to get basic management services when they need them, and not have to incur unabsorbed overhead costs for those services.
There are certainly times when a company needs to hire or retain a full-time employee, but there are others when having the option to outsource can provide them with the competitive edge needed to get through in a pinch. Project management, bidding and estimating, proposal and marketing writing, scheduling, quality management and public agency prequalification are some of the services that Barajas CM Associates can provide on an hourly on-call basis.
There are also smaller or emerging companies that need the type of services we provide on a fairly regular basis. They may not be in a position to have the one or more full-time employees it would take to get these services. For them a single source for a variety of basic construction management services can prove to be vital to the way they operate.
Often times our customers come to us with a particular need but then quickly discover that they can dramatically improve their overhead cost structure by using a variety of services on an ongoing basis.
